On promoting and sharing

It’s true that I lack knowledge in many fields. Sometimes I lack common-sense. Sometimes I’m a complete fucking ignorant.
Buuut .. here’s a small sample of my thus-far acquired experience.
Never be afraid to promote the people you admire. You will become a better person in the process, trust me. When you let envy consume you, you’re making 2 fatal mistakes. First, it’s counterproductive, wasting your time. Second, you’re admitting to yourself that you are inferior to them. You become your own competition and I don’t mean that in a good way (not this time).
There are many examples to enforce this idea. Promoting other blogs generate traffic back to yours. Hugh Hefner promoted beauty and he’s now surrounded by beautiful women (at least by his standards, de gustibus non disputandum). Steve Forbes promoted wealthy people and his name became a standard of wealth.
The same concept is applied to sharing. Don’t be afraid to share your knowledge. You may be tempted to think that putting a great deal of effort into learning or understanding something gives you an excuse not to share that knowledge with a friend. After all, why should they get a fast-forward when you invested a considerable amount of your precious time in the process, right? Wrong! Unless your friends are manipulative bastards that use people for a living, you’re gonna get that investment back, with profit.
